Contractor who was born in Mumbai and was a resident of Nigeria for seven years was awash with cultural experiences and travels at very young. She attended an boarding school in London between the ages of 7 and 9 years. Then, the family was relocated to London in Toronto, Canada. Contractor had a great academic career in Toronto in addition to her training as ballerina. The 92 productions she performed received acclaim from Canadian reviewers. The actress accepted an invitation to attend Stratford's conservatory. This is a course which allows just four men and eight females can attend the 20-week crash course of classical theater. She was scheduled to perform in the following season's production was confirmed. She got the part of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
